My boyfriend surprised me with a lovely 5-year anniversary last week. I was expecting a simple evening and could not believe what I saw pull up to the house. He hired a beautiful white Chrysler 300 stretch limo that sparkled like brand new. It was perfect, no dents or scratches. The interior smelled like leather seats. He left me 12 dozen red roses and a lovely anniversary card. We toasted with a bottle of champagne to the start of a lovely evening. In the background, he played “our song”–NSync’s “This I Promise You”. It was very romantic. We pulled up to Morton’s Steakhouse and our driver was a true gentleman and got our door.

It was my first time at Morton’s and boy was it beautiful. The inside was very elegant and high end. The restaurant sits right outside the Capitol building which is very cool. We started with Oysters Rockefeller which was delicious. I went on to order a ribeye, one of my favorites. I had it with a side of sour creamed mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Henry ordered the Filet and Lobster. During our meal, the general manager made his way around to our table to check on our meal and ensure the food was prepared and cooked to our liking, which it was. Overall a great customer service experience. To top if off we ordered a keylime pie and chocolate souffle to end the night.

Our limo driver was waiting out front for us when we returned. He had the limo cleaned and restocked with drinks. On the drive home, Henry presented me with a second surprise in a large Crate and Barrel box. He explained that wood is the element that represents the 5th anniversary and after much thought, this is the gift he felt I would love. I pulled it out and saw the most beautiful wooden jewelry box with 3 drawers and multiple compartments. I loved it. I jokingly told him that I didn’t know if it was a good idea to buy me a jewelry box since he will now have to buy me more jewelry!

It was an amazing anniversary evening and just the way I would have wanted.
